How relationship counselling works

Relationship counselling begins with a structured Relationship Assessment Day. This provides a comprehensive understanding of your relationship before ongoing sessions begin.

The assessment day includes:

  • Completion of the Gottman Relationship Checkup questionnaire
  • Two joint sessions
  • One individual session with each partner

The assessment takes place in person in Darwin over one full day and involves approximately six hours of sessions, with a one-hour break.

This structured process ensures our work is focused, collaborative and guided by a clear understanding of strengths, challenges and shared therapeutic goals.

Ongoing Relationship Counselling Sessions

Following the assessment day, ongoing relationship counselling is offered through longer couples sessions to support meaningful therapeutic work. Session frequency and timing are discussed collaboratively.

Ongoing sessions take place in person in Darwin.
