Individual Counselling in Darwin
Confidential counselling for adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress and life transitions.

How Individual Counselling Can Help
There are times in life when challenges begin to feel difficult to manage alone. Anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties and major life transitions can gradually affect confidence, wellbeing and your ability to cope day to day.
Individual counselling provides a confidential space to explore what is happening, develop a clearer understanding of the patterns contributing to distress and identify practical ways forward. Therapy can help you respond more effectively to challenges, strengthen emotional resilience and create meaningful change over time.
Whether you are experiencing a specific difficulty or a growing sense that something is not working as it once did, counselling offers an opportunity to pause, reflect and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

What is Individual Counselling?
Individual counselling is a collaborative process focused on understanding your experiences, exploring the factors contributing to current difficulties and developing skills that support psychological wellbeing.
As a clinical psychologist, I work with adults seeking support for concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, life transitions, relationship difficulties, self-esteem concerns, grief and adjustment challenges.
Therapy is tailored to your individual circumstances, goals and strengths. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, treatment is adapted to what is most relevant and helpful for you.

Evidence-Based Therapy Approaches
My work is grounded in evidence-based psychological therapies supported by research and clinical experience. Depending on your needs, therapy may incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based approaches and other skills-focused strategies that support emotional regulation, resilience and psychological flexibility.
The focus is not simply on reducing symptoms, but on developing practical skills and insights that support long-term wellbeing.

How Individual Counselling Works
Individual counselling begins with an extended initial appointment of 100 minutes. This session provides an opportunity to develop a thorough understanding of your concerns, personal history and goals for therapy.
Together, we identify the areas you would like to focus on and establish a plan that feels practical, achievable and relevant to your circumstances.
Ongoing appointments are tailored to your needs and scheduled at a pace that supports steady and sustainable progress. Some people attend more regularly at the beginning of therapy, while others prefer a less frequent approach.
Appointments are available in person in Nightcliff, Darwin, with telehealth offered where appropriate.
