How I work
Evidence-Based Therapy in Darwin
Evidence-based therapy in Darwin begins with understanding that asking for help can be hard.
When you’re facing challenges or feeling stuck, it’s natural to try to manage things on your own. But sometimes, despite your best efforts, nothing seems to shift – and it can be hard to know what to do next.
It takes openness and courage to seek professional support. As a clinical psychologist, I’m here to walk alongside you for part of that journey – helping you gain clarity, work through challenges, and feel more grounded and capable, rather than simply getting by.
Since starting my private practice in 2010, it’s been a privilege to support people from diverse backgrounds as they work towards meaningful, lasting change. Therapy isn’t always easy – but with the right support, it can be deeply worthwhile.
This approach is grounded in research, structured collaboration and practical skill-building tailored to your goals.
Working with Individuals and Couples
Relationship Counselling Using the Gottman Method
As the Northern Territory’s only Certified Gottman Therapist, I provide couples therapy and relationship counselling using the research-based Gottman Method.
Couples therapy begins with a structured New Couples Assessment, to develop a clear, shared understanding of your relationship before ongoing sessions commence. It includes:
- The Gottman Relationship Checkup questionnaire
- Two joint sessions
- One individual session with each partner
Therapy for Anxiety and Depression
I provide therapy for adults experiencing anxiety and depression in Nightcliff, Darwin.
Sessions focus on understanding what’s contributing to distress and developing practical strategies to support emotional wellbeing. Appointments can be booked online, with available dates and times listed. Fees and Medicare rebate information are available on the Frequently Asked Questions page.
Goal-Focused
Therapy is collaborative and purposeful. We clarify goals early and work toward practical, measurable progress. Sessions focus on building skills that support lasting change rather than simply managing symptoms in the short term.

Flexibility
I understand that life is busy and circumstances can change unexpectedly. There are no rigid rules about how often therapy needs to occur, and we’ll choose a pace that fits your needs and circumstances.
You decide how frequently you’d like to attend sessions and whether you prefer telehealth or in-person appointments. Some people begin with weekly sessions, then move to fortnightly or monthly appointments as their needs change.
You’re in control
Choosing to see a psychologist is a significant step, and therapy should always feel safe and respectful. There is no pressure to talk about trauma or deeply personal experiences before you feel ready.
You decide what you would like to focus on in sessions and how much you wish to share. Your autonomy is respected at all times, and therapy progresses at a pace that feels right for you.
