What is Depression?
We’ve all experienced those days when we’re feeling a bit down or finding it difficult to get motivated. However, if you’re struggling continually with feeling extremely sad or hopeless and you no longer enjoy your usual activities, it’s time to look for professional help.
Symptoms of Depression
Depression affects how people think, feel and behave. A person struggling with depression may experience:
- Difficulty or excessive sleeping
- Loss or increase of appetite
- Lack of concentration
- Extreme sadness
- Suicidal thoughts
- Excessive worry

- Hopelessness
- Tearfulness
- Irritability
- Guilt

Treatment for Depression
Depression doesn’t need to have the last word.
As a clinical psychologist with 13+ years’ experience, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people who suffer from depression to help them get their lives back on track. I’ve received specific training in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders.
