Autism & ADHD Assessments
A comprehensive, neuroaffirming assessment process focused on understanding how your brain works, not fixing who you are.
At Breakthrough Psychology, Autism and ADHD assessments are collaborative, respectful, and grounded in clinical expertise. Whether you are seeking clarity for yourself or for an adolescent, the focus is on insight, validation, and practical guidance moving forward.
Who are Autism and ADHD assessments for?
Autism and ADHD assessments are suitable for adults and adolescents who are seeking a clearer understanding of how they think, learn, and experience the world.
Many people pursue assessment after years of feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, or unsure why certain aspects of life feel more challenging. Others may be exploring assessment following recommendations from health professionals, educators, or family members.
A neuroaffirming and respectful assessment approach
I take a neuroaffirming approach to assessment, recognising neurodivergence as a natural part of human diversity rather than something that needs to be fixed.
The assessment process is collaborative and transparent, with an emphasis on understanding strengths, challenges, and support needs. Wherever possible, feedback is shared in a way that feels validating, practical, and empowering.
The assessment process is tailored to the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
What does the assessment process involve?
Autism and ADHD assessments involve a combination of clinical interviews, standardised questionnaires, and behavioural observations. The exact components are tailored to the individual and guided by best-practice clinical standards.
The assessment process focuses on building a comprehensive picture rather than relying on a single test or score. This allows recommendations to be meaningful, relevant, and personalised.
